The base realme 13 5G is worth considering if battery life, a stabilized main camera, and a 120Hz screen matter more to you than OLED picture quality or consistently smooth scrolling. Its IPS LCD and mid-range performance make value the deciding factor: compare the price of your exact RAM and storage version with current alternatives before buying.

What the realme 13 5G does well
Battery life is a notable strength
In its 5 September 2024 review, Dhruv Joshi of 91mobiles called the backup excellent and said it should last most users a full day. That is the reviewer’s assessment, not a published standardized battery test, so treat it as a practical review impression rather than a guaranteed runtime.
The main camera is the more convincing camera
91mobiles found that the 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization captured daylight detail and dynamic range reasonably well. The reviewer also noted grain in dark parts of low-light images. The 2MP monochrome camera is a secondary sensor; the cited review’s strongest photographic praise is for the primary camera, not the rear camera setup as a whole.
Useful everyday hardware and a fluid refresh rate
The 120Hz refresh rate can make supported interface animations and scrolling appear more fluid than on a standard-refresh display. The review also praises audio output and notes stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

What to consider before buying
The LCD is a compromise against OLED alternatives
The 6.72-inch panel is an IPS LCD rather than AMOLED or OLED. Although it refreshes at 120Hz, 91mobiles’ reviewer found its 580-nit peak brightness less compelling outdoors and for multimedia than OLED competitors. The review also described it as a brightness downgrade from the predecessor, which it cited at 950 nits. Those figures are the review’s reported specifications, not independent measurements here.
Routine performance is not the same as flawless smoothness
The reviewer considered the Dimensity 6300 capable of ordinary tasks but reported occasional lag when scrolling through Instagram or YouTube comment feeds. That is a specific observation from a 2024 review, not a claim about every unit or current software version. The cited evidence does not establish gaming performance, so buyers who prioritize demanding games should compare current device-specific testing rather than infer results from the processor alone.

Value depends on today’s price and configuration
Mint reported Indian launch prices of ₹17,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₹19,999 for 8GB/256GB in August 2024. Gadgets 360’s product page, updated 4 October 2026, listed configurations between ₹23,999 and ₹29,499. That is a dated listing snapshot, not a guaranteed offer or a like-for-like price for every configuration; check the seller and exact memory variant before deciding.
Joshi gave the phone 7.4/10 in 2024 and said similarly priced rivals at the time could offer OLED displays or comparable or better performance. His review named the Moto G85, Redmi 13 5G, and iQOO Z9x in that period’s comparisons: it described the Moto as having OLED, the Redmi as matching performance and doing better in selfies at lower launch-era pricing, and the iQOO as outperforming the realme at a lower price. These are historical comparisons, not a current 2026 ranking. Compare the same RAM/storage tier and current local price, as well as display, everyday and gaming performance, cameras, battery, and charging, before choosing a winner.

Verdict: who should buy the realme 13 5G?
The realme 13 5G is a conditional choice for someone who values the reviewer-reported all-day battery, a capable daylight main camera with OIS, stereo audio, and practical wired-audio hardware. Skip it or compare alternatives closely if an OLED screen, dependable smoothness in heavier everyday use, or the strongest value at your current price is more important. The available evidence supports a 2024 review judgment and a 4 October 2026 price snapshot; it does not establish present-day competitor value or current software behavior.
