Quantum Integration’s Q-Server and Q-Client Builder Base were designed as a hub-and-board system for building IoT projects with visual tools rather than writing all the firmware and application code by hand. The company’s 2020 materials describe configuring connected hardware, generating Q-Client firmware, and assembling apps in a browser-based, drag-and-drop interface. That describes the platform’s intended workflow—not a guarantee that it is available, supported, or compatible with current components today.

What were the Q-Server and Q-Client Builder Base?

The two products had different roles. Hackster’s 2020 overview describes the Q-Server as the central hub, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and the Q-Client Builder Base as the microcontroller board that connects to external electronics. In practical terms, the Q-Server was the place to configure and manage a project; the Builder Base was the board that interfaced with its sensors, motors, and other circuits. Hackster’s overview and the company’s October 2020 release describe this architecture.

The company presented the platform as suitable for beginners as well as experienced users. Those are product-positioning claims, not the results of an independent usability test.

Could you build IoT devices without coding?

The advertised workflow was intended to reduce how much code a user had to write. Quantum Integration said users could describe the hardware connected to the Builder Base in the Q-Server’s local interface, then generate and upload firmware. A browser-based visual environment was used to build applications with drag-and-drop elements. The Q-Server flyer also lists the ability for experienced users to embed JavaScript, so “code-free” did not mean that custom code was impossible or that every project could be made without it. The release and Q-Server product flyer document these features.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

That distinction matters: visual configuration and generated firmware can simplify common tasks, but a project still depends on choosing and wiring suitable components and defining the desired behavior. The available product descriptions do not establish how well the tools handled unusual hardware, complex projects, or current devices.

What could the Builder Base connect to?

Quantum Integration’s 2020 materials list several interfaces and component categories. They are historical specifications, not confirmation that any particular board revision or currently sold component will work.

Documented interface or category Examples listed in the 2020 materials
GPIO Seven GPIO connections; digital and analog inputs, digital and PWM outputs
I2C Sensors and I/O expanders
Serial Serial interface listed in the Q-Client flyer
Component types Temperature sensors, IMUs, servos, DC and stepper motors, LEDs, and LCD screens

The interface and component list comes from the Q-Client product flyer, while the company’s October 2020 release specifically describes connecting sensors, motors, or other circuits through GPIO or I2C. Before planning a build around a specific sensor or actuator, check its electrical requirements and the exact board documentation; the historical list alone is not a compatibility guarantee.

What did the software and integrations offer?

The Q-Server flyer describes local operation, automatic discovery of Q-Client boards, control from a phone or tablet, and sharing projects through a Quantum Library. It also advertises Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. These are features described in a 2020 product flyer, rather than confirmation of a functioning present-day service or software release. Q-Server flyer

Quantum Integration also described a “Gateways and Services” plug-in architecture. Its October 2020 example linked a Samsung SmartThings leak sensor to a Quantum-controlled valve and used a Quantum Twilio service to send a text message. This illustrates the kind of cross-service project the company proposed, but does not establish that the SmartThings or Twilio integration remains available. Company release, October 20, 2020

Can you still buy the Quantum IoT platform?

Current availability and support are not confirmed by the available sources. The company’s media-room feed lists announcements through November 23, 2021, and the ODG Electronics listing for the Q-Server and Builder Base showed zero inventory and price on request when accessed on October 4, 2026. Those details do not prove that the products are permanently discontinued, but they are not evidence of an active, readily purchasable product either. Check directly with the supplier before relying on a listing or planning a build. Quantum Integration’s media-room feed · ODG Electronics listing

What should a maker verify before choosing it?

For a new project, the main question is not only whether a visual interface sounds convenient; it is whether the whole system can be obtained and maintained. Verify these points before committing:
