Yandex Cloud Disks provides virtual block storage for Yandex Compute Cloud virtual machines. It supports Network HDD, Network SSD, Non-replicated SSD, ultra high-speed network storage with three replicas, and local disks on dedicated hosts. The service fits teams running workloads inside the Yandex Cloud ecosystem, from general-purpose applications to high-performance computing. Disks can be created, attached, detached, resized, encrypted, and managed through the web console, CLI, Terraform, or API. A 60-day trial is available, while the service itself is paid rather than free-plan software.
The volume lineup is the main differentiator. Network HDD covers standard HDD block storage, Network SSD provides replicated SSD storage, and Non-replicated SSD prioritizes enhanced performance without redundancy. The ultra high-speed replicated SSD tier adds three replicas for high-performance workloads. Disk snapshots and scheduled snapshots support backup workflows, while encryption can use system or custom Yandex Key Management Service keys.
