Our verdict on Weave Vault
Weave Vault is a mobile privacy app for storing photos, videos, documents, and other files in encrypted vaults. It is designed for people who want private content separated from their ordinary photo library and device backups. Vaults open through patterns drawn on a 5×5 grid, and different patterns can open separate vaults. The app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android, with a free plan and a seven-day free trial.
The published plans use a freemium structure. Free includes pattern unlock, on-device encryption, encrypted backup availability, up to three vaults, and up to 50 files per vault. The Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime Pro plans add unlimited vaults, unlimited files, folders, decoy vaults, and secure sharing. The listed Pro tiers share the same highlighted features, so the main choice is the billing format rather than a different feature set. Buyers considering the app for occasional private storage can start with Free; larger libraries and sharing workflows point toward Pro.
Privacy controls are the main reason to choose Weave Vault. AES-256-GCM encryption covers photos, videos, files, metadata, and thumbnails, while optional encrypted backups can use iCloud or Google Drive. Multiple vaults, a decoy vault opened by a different pattern, a 12-word recovery phrase, and an in-app camera that saves directly into the vault give it a focused privacy toolkit. Secure sharing adds one-time phrases and expiry. It is a good fit for mobile users who prioritize private storage and controlled sharing. Users needing broader platform coverage or a free vault without tight item limits should consider alternatives.
