Our verdict on WeatherBug

WeatherBug brings forecasts, radar and weather alerts together in an Android app for people who want more than current conditions. Its hourly and 10-day forecasts sit alongside interactive maps with radar, storm risk, temperature, wind and lightning views. Severe-weather notifications can be customized, and saved locations have their own notification controls. Lightning tracking and hurricane outlooks give the app particular appeal to users following developing storms, while air-quality and pollen information broaden its everyday coverage.

The free app is supported by ads; paid subscriptions remove them. According to the published plans, Monthly Subscription costs $1.99 per month and Yearly Subscription costs $10.99 per year, with ad-free mobile access listed for both. A 7-day trial is available and requires a payment card. The annual plan lowers the stated cost compared with paying monthly, while the free option lets users keep access to the core app without subscribing. This makes the choice fairly direct: tolerate ads or pay for an ad-free experience.

WeatherBug is a strong fit for Android users who value storm-focused map layers, lightning alerts and hurricane tracking alongside a longer-range forecast. Home-screen widgets and per-location notification controls add useful flexibility for people monitoring multiple places. Its scope is broader than storm tracking, with pollen and air-quality information included, but the paid tier's stated benefit is specifically ad removal. Users looking for those weather features without ads should weigh that subscription against the free, ad-supported option; those who need a platform beyond Android should look elsewhere.
