Our verdict on Weather on the Way

Weather on the Way is an iPhone weather app for travelers who want conditions along a planned drive, including motorcyclists and truckers. Instead of focusing only on a location’s current forecast, it estimates weather at points on a route for the times a driver is expected to reach them. The app includes alerts, precipitation radar, alternate-route comparisons and weather details such as wind, visibility and UV index. Its route-specific approach suits trip planning better than people seeking a general-purpose forecast app.

Route planning is the product’s defining strength. Drivers can add stops or waypoints, import a GPX route, compare alternatives and adjust departure times up to seven days ahead. Forecast details include sunrise and sunset along the route, while live traffic camera feeds add another source of context. Apple CarPlay support and compatibility with Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Scenic Motorcycle Navigation and Siri connect the app to common navigation workflows. It works in more than 70 countries, though severe-weather alerts are limited to the United States, Canada, EU member nations and Israel.

A free version is available, and the published plans show PRO Monthly at $4.99 per month and PRO Yearly at $20 per year. Both paid plans unlock additional PRO features; the yearly plan includes a seven-day free trial. Weather on the Way is a focused choice for iPhone drivers who value route-timed conditions and navigation integrations. It is a weaker fit for Android users or anyone who needs severe-weather alerts outside the supported regions. Email is the listed support channel.
