Our verdict on Warcraft III: Reforged
Warcraft III: Reforged is Blizzard Entertainment’s updated version of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne, combining a single-player campaign with online competitive play and player-created games. It suits strategy players who want a campaign alongside ranked matches and tools for making custom content. Players choose among Humans, Orcs, Undead, and Night Elves, and the game supports Windows and macOS. Online play requires broadband internet.
The campaign spans more than 60 missions, while ranked ladder play, profiles, and leaderboards provide a competitive track beyond the story. Custom campaigns and player-created games widen the ways to play, and the upgraded World Editor gives creators tools to build content. This breadth makes the game a fit for players interested in both playing and editing strategy scenarios, rather than a narrow single-player experience.
According to Blizzard’s original release announcement, Standard Edition costs $29.99 as a one-time purchase; Spoils of War Edition costs $39.99 and adds Warcraft III hero skins plus bonuses for other Blizzard games.
