Our verdict on W'xOps
W'xOps is a self-hosted internal developer portal for teams running Kubernetes. It brings service, API, database, team, document, ownership, lifecycle, dependency, and documentation metadata into a searchable catalog. Platform teams can also provide a golden-path scaffolding wizard that creates repositories, Kubernetes configuration, secrets, pipelines, and catalog entries through a guided workflow. The result is a portal aimed at organizations that want developer self-service while keeping the platform inside their own infrastructure.
The strongest fit is its connection to a Kubernetes-centered platform ecosystem. W'xOps supports multi-cluster visibility, Kubernetes RBAC-based access control, and runtime status from Argo CD and Crossplane. Its integration set also includes Gitea, Vault, Pinniped, Kustomize, Traefik, cert-manager, External Secrets Operator, Gitea Actions, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope. A command-line client extends catalog browsing and operational actions beyond the web interface, while on-demand parallel debug pods and live file synchronization address development and troubleshooting workflows.
