Veritas Access is storage software for enterprise environments that need to expose shared data through file and object protocols while moving data between on-premises storage and cloud targets. It supports hybrid deployment, global namespace access, and policy-based tiering from a single file system. The product is aimed at organizations using Veritas Access Appliance systems, with virtualized Linux deployment described for older software releases.

Its main strength is protocol and target breadth. Access supports NFS, CIFS/SMB, Amazon-compatible S3, and iSCSI access, while cloud targets include Amazon S3, AWS Glacier, AWS GovCloud (US), Azure, Google Cloud, Alibaba, IBM Cloud Object Storage, Veritas Access S3, and other S3-compatible storage. Administration is available through a REST API, graphical and command-line interfaces, and cloud gateway configuration for registered storage subscriptions. NetBackup integration adds a defined fit for long-term data retention workflows.

The licensing structure includes a 60-day Trialware evaluation, capacity-based Subscription licensing with documented 1-, 2-, or 3-year terms, and a Perpetual license for unlimited use. Pricing follows a contact-sales model, so the product is better suited to organizations evaluating appliance-based storage architecture than to teams seeking simple self-service purchasing. Immutable storage capabilities on Access Appliance strengthen its fit for controlled enterprise environments. Choose Veritas Access when multi-protocol access, tiered storage, and NetBackup integration are central requirements; consider another option when current virtual-machine deployment or transparent public pricing is a priority.
