Veracode SCA is a software composition analysis product for development, security, and application security teams managing open-source and third-party component risk. It supports repository and CI/CD scanning through agents, plus uploaded application scanning through the Veracode Platform. Its scope covers web, mobile, desktop, and back-end applications, with support for ecosystems including Java, Scala, Go, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, PHP, C/C++, and C#/.NET.
The standout strength is the combination of dependency visibility and remediation workflows. Veracode SCA creates dependency graphs for direct and transitive components, detects vulnerabilities and malicious packages, and adds vulnerable-method and reachability analysis to help prioritize findings. It can generate and scan SBOMs in CycloneDX and SPDX formats, assess license risk, apply policy controls, and create automated pull requests for dependency upgrades.
