Veeam Kasten Disaster Recovery is a Kubernetes-native platform for backing up, restoring, migrating, and recovering cloud-native applications. It is designed for operations and application teams managing Kubernetes clusters across public, private, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises environments. Coverage includes Kubernetes resources, persistent storage, Helm v3 release information, KubeVirt virtual machines, relational and NoSQL databases, and supported VM-based applications. Its recovery toolkit includes scheduled snapshot and export policies, cross-cluster and cross-cloud migration, orchestrated failover workflows, catalog recovery, and immutable object-storage backups.
The published plans show a free Starter edition for evaluation or small non-production clusters, with limitations in support and scale. A 60-day Enterprise Trial adds VM and containerized application protection, an intuitive GUI, and on-premises, cloud, and edge deployment. Veeam Kasten for Modern Virtualization protects VM-based applications and data on Kubernetes and can be upgraded to Veeam Kasten for Kubernetes.
