Our verdict on Urban VPN
Urban VPN is a freemium virtual private network service for people who want free, unlimited-bandwidth VPN access for non-commercial browsing. It supports Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, the web, and a Chrome extension, with browser extensions also available for Firefox and Edge. Users can replace their apparent IP address, choose VPN server locations across dozens of countries, and route traffic through the service's network. The free offering is aimed at casual users who value broad access without a numeric data allowance.
The paid structure adds dedicated high-speed servers and connections for up to eight devices. Premium Monthly costs $12.99 per month, Premium 6 Months costs $41.88 per 6 months, and Premium Annual costs $59.40 per year. All paid plans list 65 10Gbps servers, WireGuard and AES-256 encryption, Double VPN, a kill switch, support for up to eight devices, and servers in 87 countries. A 3-day free trial is available. The pricing page advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, while the FAQ states that Premium currently has no money-back guarantee, so buyers should review the applicable terms before subscribing.
Urban VPN's strongest fit is casual browsing across desktop, mobile, and browser platforms, especially for users who want unlimited free bandwidth, server choice, OpenVPN support, DNS and IPv6 leak protection, and a kill switch. Privacy-sensitive buyers should weigh the policy language carefully: Urban states that it collects usage telemetry and browsing/activity data, making its logging posture less suitable for people seeking a clearly limited data-collection approach. Choose Urban VPN for broad free access and practical connection features; consider an alternative if privacy-policy clarity is the primary requirement.
