Our verdict on Uptime Monitor
Uptime Monitor is an open-source, self-hosted infrastructure monitoring system from Rabbit Company. It is aimed at operators who want heartbeat-based checks across websites, databases, network services, game servers, and other endpoints, and who are comfortable hosting the monitoring system themselves. Its protocol coverage includes HTTP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, databases, SMTP, and game services. This makes it relevant to self-hosters managing a mixed environment rather than teams looking only for a basic website check. The product is available for self-hosting and through an API; it does not list a hosted platform option here.
Its monitoring model combines heartbeat pulses with distributed, multi-region agents and real-time WebSocket updates. Historical pulse and uptime data support review over time, while up to three custom numeric metrics per monitor add some room for service-specific signals. Hierarchical monitor groups can use configurable health strategies, and dependency-based notification suppression can prevent dependent services from generating separate notifications when an upstream component fails. Public or password-protected status pages provide a way to share service state. Configuration is hot-reloadable, which may suit operators who prefer to manage changes without treating every adjustment as a full redeployment. Together, these features give the product more operational structure than a simple endpoint checker.
The integration list comprises Discord, Email, Ntfy, Telegram, Webhook, and ClickHouse. Alert channels are Discord, Email, Ntfy, Telegram, and Webhook; ClickHouse is also listed as an integration. The open-source model and self-hosted deployment suit teams that want control over their monitoring environment and can take responsibility for operating it. Buyers looking for a managed service, a broad preconfigured integration ecosystem, or explicit monitoring limits and intervals should compare alternatives before choosing. Uptime Monitor is a stronger fit when multi-protocol coverage, distributed checks, groups, and status pages matter more than a hosted, low-maintenance setup.
