Our verdict on Twingate

Twingate is a zero trust network access platform for organizations replacing legacy VPNs and controlling access to private applications and networks. It binds connections to verified identities, applies resource-level policies, and supports device posture checks. Administrators can deploy outbound-only Connectors in on-premises or cloud networks, while users connect through desktop, mobile, browser, and Chrome extension clients. Support for TCP, UDP, and ICMP covers applications such as browser-based tools, SSH, VNC, and RDP.

Pricing spans a free Starter plan for up to 5 users and 50 Resources, with split tunneling and conditional access controls. The Home plan costs $15 per month for up to 7 users and adds native device posture checks and secure service accounts for non-commercial use. Teams costs $5 per user per month when billed annually or $12 monthly, supporting up to 100 users, Google Workspace SSO, posture checks, and automated least privilege policies. Business costs $10 annually or $12 monthly per user for up to 500 users, adding IdP provisioning, endpoint integrations, and usage-based and JIT access policies. Enterprise includes custom account sizes, custom MSAs and SLAs, privileged access, and priority support.

Twingate’s strongest fit is for teams that want identity-based private access with infrastructure and security integrations. Okta, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Kandji, AWS S3, Terraform, Pulumi, and other integrations extend its identity, device, logging, and administration workflows. Audit-log export, AWS S3 synchronization, SSH Gateway session recording, and administration through Terraform, Kubernetes Operator, and GraphQL add depth for operational teams. Choose Twingate when agent-based access and Connector deployment suit the environment; consider alternatives when access must avoid endpoint agents.
