Our verdict on TraceHush
TraceHush is a paid Safari ad and tracker blocker for iPhone, iPad, and supported Apple-silicon Mac devices. It is designed for people who want filtering across Apple devices without creating an account or transmitting browsing data. The product blocks known advertising and tracking requests before they load, hides reviewed ad placements and some delayed replacement ads, and provides controls for pausing protection on a website or allowing specific hostnames.
Pricing is available through the Apple App Store in two plans. The Monthly plan costs $1.99 per month and includes Safari ad and tracker filtering, plus a 7-day introductory trial for eligible first-time monthly subscribers. The Annual plan costs $7.99 per year and includes the same filtering, but no introductory trial. Apple determines localized pricing, taxes, and currency conversion. The annual plan is the lower-cost option based on the published U.S. prices, while the monthly plan offers the available introductory trial.
TraceHush’s main distinction is its privacy-preserving filtering approach. Packaged rules are delivered through signed app updates, and page cleanup takes place on the device without storing or transmitting page content. Users can turn filtering on or off with a master switch and manage allowed website hostnames. Its scope is intentionally narrow: it is built around Safari on macOS and iOS, not broad browser coverage, and its verified feature set does not include custom lists, element picking, or cookie blocking. Choose TraceHush if private, focused Safari filtering is the priority; choose an alternative if you need broader browser support or more granular filtering controls.
