Our verdict on TNZ Internet Fax
TNZ Internet Fax is a hosted fax service for organisations that need to send and receive faxes without physical fax hardware. It supports outbound faxing through email attachments, an online dashboard and developer interfaces, while inbound faxes can arrive by email as PDF or TIF files, through the dashboard or via API. The service is positioned for business users in areas including healthcare, legal, government and financial services, with dedicated or ported numbers for New Zealand and Australia.
Its strongest fit is for operations that need to connect faxing with existing communication and document workflows. The published integrations include Email-to-Fax, SMTP, an online dashboard, REST API, SOAP API and FTP. Inbound faxes can also be retrieved through HTTP, SOAP or FTP, and email delivery-status reporting provides status information for outbound messages. These options give teams a choice between familiar email workflows and more technical interfaces, while number portability supports organisations moving existing New Zealand or Australian fax numbers into the service.
Pricing is usage-based across the listed NZ Landline Fax Number, NZ 0800 Fax Number and AU Landline Fax Number plans. The published plans show per-page charges for sent and received faxes, along with porting setup fees for each number. Pricing is shown in NZD excluding GST. There is no free plan, and fax is excluded from TNZ's general free trial. Fax archiving is available for three months, with optional PGP encryption and no-archive settings for different handling requirements. Choose TNZ Internet Fax if regional number porting, email delivery and API retrieval are central to your workflow. Organisations needing broader geographic coverage, longer archive availability or a free entry tier should consider alternatives.
