Our verdict on Tix

Tix is cloud-based ticketing and box-office software for venues, promoters, universities, museums, theatres, festivals, tours, nonprofits, and other event organizations. It brings online ticket sales, box-office and mobile sales, reserved and general admission seating, barcode scanning, ticket validation, customer management, reporting, email marketing, donations, memberships, and season subscriptions into one system. Private-label branded pages support online sales, while web and iOS access cover the listed platforms. The fit is strongest for arts organizations whose events revolve around selling and validating tickets.

Pricing is usage-based rather than subscription-based. The Box Office Fee is $0.25 per ticket for tickets sold through the organization’s box-office system. The Online Fee is $1.50 per ticket for sales online, through kiosks, and on mobile devices. The Call Center Fee is $3.50 per ticket and adds optional 24-hour, 7-day call-center ticket sales. Payment processing can run through the customer’s merchant account or a Tix merchant account. Supported payment integrations include Authorize.net, Cybersource, Global Gateway, Virtual Merchant, Stripe, and PayPal. This structure suits organizations that want costs tied to ticket volume, but channel mix should be considered when estimating total fees.

Beyond ticket sales, Tix includes purchase-history tracking, surveys, discount codes, QR codes, real-time reporting, and exports to Excel, PDF, and CSV. It also supports donations, memberships, and season subscriptions, which can help organizations manage related patron activity alongside admissions. Barcode scanning and ticket validation provide a check-in workflow. The product is less suitable for event programs centered on session registration, badge printing, or broader event-platform needs. Choose Tix when box-office control and ticketing operations are the priority; consider an alternative when registration logistics extend beyond admission management.
