Our verdict on Tencent Kubernetes Engine

Tencent Kubernetes Engine (TKE) is a Kubernetes-based container management service for building, operating, and managing container clusters. It is designed for organizations running containerized applications on Tencent Cloud, as well as teams connecting external Kubernetes clusters. Its deployment options cover managed and self-deployed clusters, along with serverless, edge, and registered cluster models. Administration is available through the web, API, CLI, and self-hosted environments.

Pricing is paid and varies by region and cluster model. The published pricing documentation describes hourly cluster-management charges, with prices shown in the console rather than as a single monthly starting price. TKE’s infrastructure fit is strongest within Tencent Cloud: integrations include Tencent Cloud Virtual Machine, Cloud Block Storage, Cloud Load Balancer, Tencent Container Registry, and Tencent Managed Service for Prometheus. That combination supports compute, storage, networking, image management, and monitoring workflows around Kubernetes clusters.

Operationally, TKE covers workload deployment, node-pool management, availability-zone deployment, and multiple autoscaling approaches for nodes, pods, and workloads. RollingUpdate deployment policy supports controlled releases and rollback, while policy management addresses deletion protection, configuration constraints, and security reinforcement.
