Our verdict on StackBlaze
StackBlaze is a Kubernetes-based platform-as-a-service for deploying Deno applications, databases, workers, cron jobs, functions, and other services. It supports deployments from Git repositories or Dockerfiles, automatically builds container images, and is available through web and API interfaces. Deno developers can use runtime detection while still accessing a broader container platform for applications built with multiple languages and frameworks.
Pricing follows a freemium structure. The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes 1 usage credit and community support. Starter costs $5 per month, includes 5 usage credits, and adds custom domains, SSL, and bill-shock protection. Pro costs $20 per month with 20 usage credits, preview environments, team and RBAC features, and email support. Business costs $100 per month and includes 100 usage credits, unlimited projects and apps, and priority support. A 30-day free trial is also available. Bandwidth is metered, so usage-credit planning matters as an application grows.
The platform’s main strength is breadth around deployment operations: GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket integrations; automatic redeploys on push; managed TLS; scheduled cron jobs; background workers; persistent disks; managed database add-ons; horizontal scaling; logs, metrics, traces, alerts, and rollbacks; and private networking between services. Preview environments support pull-request workflows, while container deployment gives teams flexibility beyond a Deno-only runtime. StackBlaze suits developers and teams that want Deno hosting with room for supporting services and scaling. It is less suitable for projects seeking a narrowly focused Deno platform with a fixed bandwidth allowance or team controls on the entry plan.
