Our verdict on SpamHero Business Email Security
SpamHero Business Email Security is a hosted email security service for organizations that need to filter mail before it reaches their mail host. It is aimed at small businesses and teams using Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, on-premises mail servers or hybrid environments. The service filters inbound spam, viruses, malware and unsafe attachments, while domain-level policies, custom rules, quarantine and delivery diagnostics give administrators control over message handling. Pricing is based on domains rather than individual mailboxes, with unlimited email addresses on supported plans.
The published annual plans start with Lite at $7 per domain per month, including inbound filtering, individual quarantine access and 25,000 included inbound messages. Basic costs $9 per domain per month annually and adds domain aliases, 15-day email archiving and Active Directory / LDAP synchronization. Standard costs $14 per domain per month annually and adds outbound email service, 30-day archiving and automatic directory synchronization. Enterprise is $99 per domain per month with monthly billing, 200,000 included inbound emails, 10,000 included outbound relays, unlimited quarantine users and automatic quarantine-user provisioning. A 30-day trial is available, and there is no free plan.
Security controls extend beyond basic spam filtering. Impersonation protection uses SPF, DKIM and approved sources, while optional outbound filtering, SMTP relay, TLS encryption, attachment controls and searchable message logs support broader mail-flow management. Email archiving and mail spooling help retain or queue messages when a destination server is unavailable. SpamHero fits organizations that want domain-based administration and a focused cloud gateway. It is less suited to teams that need a free tier, mailbox-level pricing, or a platform beyond web access.
