SmartBear Collaborator review
A structured review platform with strong legacy source-control coverage and customer-managed deployment.

SmartBear Collaborator is a code and document peer-review tool for development, testing, and management teams. It supports structured reviews of source code, requirements, test plans, and other artifacts, with configurable workflows, checklists, participant rules, defect tracking, audit trails, reports, and integrations. Its customer-managed deployment and legacy source-control coverage make it a fit for enterprise teams working across established development environments.
The edition structure covers different team sizes and governance needs. Collaborator Community is free of charge and provides basic code-review features for up to 10 users with fixed licenses. Collaborator Team supports up to 25 users, uses a subscription license model, and adds configurable workflows and review checklists. Collaborator Enterprise supports unlimited users based on licenses owned, offers fixed or concurrent licenses, and adds electronic signatures and advanced review capabilities. Paid licensing uses a contact-sales model, so teams should plan for a sales-led purchasing process rather than a published self-service price.
Integration breadth is a central strength. Collaborator connects with Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Subversion, Perforce, Mercurial, CVS, AccuRev, MKS Integrity, Rational ClearCase, Rational Synergy, Rational Team Concert, Team Foundation Server, and Eclipse. Command-line and web-service APIs extend its fit for established workflows, while web, Windows, Linux, and API availability support varied deployment environments. Choose Collaborator when review governance, auditability, document reviews, or legacy SCM compatibility matter. Teams seeking a lightweight, purely hosted review experience or a clearly published paid price may prefer a different option.
