Our verdict on SILQ
SILQ is browser-based legal practice management software for Australian solicitors and barristers. It combines client and matter management with document generation, court forms, time and expense tracking, invoicing, workflows and trust accounting. The platform covers trust receipts, withdrawals, transfers, controlled-money transactions, banking, reconciliations, individual matter ledgers, trust statements and compliance reporting. Mobile apps for iOS and Android make it a fit for firms that need access beyond the office.
The plan structure places core practice management in Solicitor Essentials, including multiple fee earners, 34 matter classes, document generation, and time and expense tracking. Pricing starts at 69 per licence per month before GST, with a yearly pricing option marked as saving 16%. Solicitor Expand adds e-signatures, task management, trust accounting, AML/CTF integration, conflict checks and Safe Custody. Solicitor Expert adds multiple trust accounts and protected trust, automatic bank feeds, batch payments, API access, and NetDocuments and iManage beta integrations. Firms selecting SILQ should therefore match the plan to their trust-accounting and integration requirements.
SILQ’s ecosystem includes Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Xero and NetDocuments, alongside Outlook and cloud-storage integrations. Its security controls include multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, role-based permissions and audit-oriented controls, while the product description identifies SOC 2 compliance and Australian-based support. That combination suits practices seeking broad legal workflows around a central system, especially where mobile access and trust reporting matter. Firms wanting only basic matter management may find the higher tiers unnecessary, while practices requiring trust accounting in the entry plan should consider another option.
