Our verdict on Signadot
Signadot creates Kubernetes-native sandbox and preview environments for developers, coding agents, and engineering teams. It forks changed services onto an existing Kubernetes cluster while routing other requests to shared dependencies, giving teams a way to test distributed changes without duplicating every service. Pull-request previews, preview URLs, custom preview domains, isolated database resource plugins, and local development workflows make it suited to teams testing changes across multiple services. Its control plane is cloud-hosted, while the operator runs in the customer's Kubernetes cluster.
The plan structure gives smaller teams a way to start without a subscription. Starter is free and includes 50 sandboxes per month, 100 test invocations per month, 10 concurrent devboxes, one Kubernetes cluster, one Resource Plugin, and Pull Request Previews. Business costs $250 per month and increases the allowances to 100 sandboxes, 200 test invocations, 15 concurrent devboxes, three clusters, and five Resource plugins. It also includes Community Slack and Email Support. A yearly Business subscription has a 10% discount. Enterprise adds custom sandbox, test-invocation, and concurrent-devbox limits, unlimited clusters and plugins, Multi-cluster RouteGroups, SSO integration, a SOC2 report, and premium support.
Signadot's strongest differentiator is its focus on distributed-system workflows rather than isolated application previews alone. Request-header routing can direct traffic across services, while test execution supports integration and end-to-end checks. Automatic teardown when pull requests close and configurable sandbox TTLs address preview lifecycle management, and integrations span GitHub Actions, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Istio, Linkerd, Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, Cypress, and developer tools including Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Kubernetes teams that need controlled, temporary environments should consider Signadot; teams without Kubernetes infrastructure or without distributed-service testing needs may prefer a narrower preview tool.
