Our verdict on ServiceUptime
ServiceUptime is a cloud-based uptime and performance monitoring service for websites, servers, network services, ports, and connected devices. It suits individuals, businesses, and organizations that need availability checks from worldwide monitoring locations, with alerts through email, SMS, or webhooks. Its monitoring scope includes HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, MySQL, ping, custom ports, webpage content, and keywords. The web and API access also support teams that want reports, maintenance scheduling, public statistics, or programmatic control.
Pricing follows a freemium model. The Free plan includes one monitor, checks every 30 or 60 minutes, worldwide monitoring locations, and email and SMS alerts. A 14-day free trial is also available. The Start plan is listed at $5.95 per month with three monitors and five-minute checks. Standard costs $9.95 per month for six monitors and five-minute checks. Advanced costs $29.95 per month and changes the emphasis to one-minute checks with three monitors. Professional costs $89.95 per month, offering ten monitors and two-minute checks. Paid plans retain worldwide locations plus SMS and email notifications. The published pricing notes that annual prices are displayed as monthly equivalents.
The strongest fit is basic monitoring where broad protocol support and worldwide checks matter more than large monitor counts. Failure verification from multiple locations can help distinguish an actual outage from an isolated monitoring result, while uptime, downtime, response-time, and historical reports provide operational context. Webhooks and the REST/JSON API extend the service beyond its built-in alert channels. However, the Free plan is limited to one monitor and slower checks, so it is less suitable for coverage across several services or frequent detection. Choose a paid tier when monitor capacity or shorter intervals are priorities; choose an alternative when those limits do not match the required scale.
