Our verdict on Seedr

Seedr is a cloud-based service for importing files from magnet links, torrent files and supported URLs into online storage. It lets users stream media, view documents and archives, download files to computers or phones, and fetch content without keeping the device connected. Browser access, mobile-optimized pages and Chrome extensions support individual users and media-focused households that want remote file access through a web interface.

The free plan provides an entry point, while paid storage and playback options are organized across four tiers. Lite costs $3.95 per month with 10 GB storage, automatically resumed transfers, raised bandwidth and download limits, and country-specific acceleration proxies. Basic costs $7.95 per month when billed annually and adds 50 GB storage, HD 720p streaming, 2 task slots, 2 upload slots and FTP mount access. Pro costs $12.95 per month when billed annually, with 200 GB storage, FHD 1080p streaming, 8 task slots, 8 upload slots, FTP mount and private network support. Master costs $19 per month when billed annually and provides 1 TB storage, 4K 2160p streaming, 25 task slots, 25 upload slots, WebDAV mount and a priority queue.

Seedr’s strongest fit is its media-oriented ecosystem. Content can play through Chromecast, AirPlay, Plex, Jellyfin and Roku, while FTP and WebDAV provide additional access on eligible plans. Browser extensions make adding links more direct, and downloads work on computers and phones. It is less suited to teams seeking a conventional file-transfer service with broader business workflow features, or users who require a desktop application. Choose Seedr for cloud fetching, browser playback and personal remote access; consider an alternative when direct transfer operations are the primary need.
