Secure Source Manager review
A security-focused Git service for enterprises already invested in Google Cloud.

Secure Source Manager is a regionally deployed, single-tenant managed Git repository service hosted on Google Cloud. It is designed for organizations that need Git repositories alongside pull requests, code review, issue tracking, branch protection, required status checks, and IAM-based access control. Teams can authenticate through HTTPS or SSH and connect repository workflows to Cloud Build, Developer Connect, Jenkins, or webhooks. Its strongest fit is an enterprise engineering organization with Google Cloud already central to its infrastructure and governance.
Pricing is straightforward but firmly enterprise-oriented: the Instance pricing plan costs $1,000 USD per instance per month, billed per instance regardless of the number of users on that instance. Partial months are prorated. That structure can make the service easier to budget for larger deployments, but it is a substantial entry point for smaller teams or organizations that need several isolated instances. There is no free plan, so buyers should evaluate the instance model against expected repository and environment requirements before committing.
Security and platform fit are the main reasons to choose Secure Source Manager. VPC Service Controls, private networking, customer-managed encryption keys, audit logging, access transparency, secret scanning, and Google Cloud IAM support align the repository service with controlled enterprise environments. Cloud Build integration also supports a Google Cloud-centered delivery workflow. The trade-off is its narrow ecosystem focus: organizations seeking a broadly neutral Git host or a lower-cost starting point should consider an alternative. Secure Source Manager makes the most sense when single tenancy, Google Cloud controls, and managed operations outweigh price and platform flexibility.
