Our verdict on Sea of Stars
Two Children of the Solstice set out to oppose the alchemist known as the Fleshmancer in Sea of Stars, a turn-based role-playing game from Sabotage Studio. It suits RPG fans looking for a fantasy adventure that combines a story campaign with combat, exploration, and optional activities. Its listed play modes are single-player and local multiplayer, so it is a better fit for solo play or sharing a session on the same system than for online groups.
Combat centers on timed hits, combos, boosts, damage types, and spellbreaking. Exploration is similarly varied: players can swim, climb, vault, jump, and hoist, while dynamic lighting includes day and night cycles, weather, eclipses, and blood moons. Sailing, cooking, and fishing provide additional activities beyond battles and traversal. The game also includes the free Throes of the Watchmaker DLC. This breadth makes it appealing to players who want a mix of RPG systems and world activities; those primarily seeking real-time combat may prefer a different style of game.
Local co-op supports up to three players, while the listed console platforms are Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. PC and mobile availability are also confirmed, and mobile versions include touch controls. Sea of Stars is a paid game with no free plan; its listed price applies to the Nintendo Switch regular price, and pricing can differ by platform or region. Choose it for turn-based fantasy play, varied traversal, and local co-op. Look elsewhere if online multiplayer is essential or if you want an action-focused combat system.
