Our verdict on SCC Online
SCC Online is a legal research platform from Eastern Book Company for advocates, judges, law firms, students, businesses, government organizations, and academic institutions. Its Web Edition brings together Indian case law from the Supreme Court, High Courts, tribunals, and commissions, along with statutes, rules, regulations, circulars, notifications, digest notes, headnotes, casenotes, and other secondary legal materials. It also includes foreign jurisdictions and international law, making it a fit for established Indian legal research teams that need more than case-law lookup alone.
Search is the platform’s central strength. Users can search by topic, party name, citation, statute, section, or keyword, then filter results by date, party names, or Coram. Mercury supports case searches across courts by party name. For research preservation and sharing, MySCCOnline lets users save results in folders, while documents and extracts can be printed, emailed, copied, or pasted. TruePrint generates PDF reproductions of law-report pages, which is particularly relevant when the presentation of a reported judgment matters alongside the underlying text.
