SAP Analytics Cloud combines business intelligence, enterprise planning, predictive analytics, reporting, and data visualization in a cloud software-as-a-service platform. It is designed for organizations using SAP business applications alongside broader enterprise data sources. Teams can create interactive stories, dashboards, reports, analytic applications, and plans, while Just Ask supports natural-language data queries and Joule adds AI-assisted analytics and planning. Web, iOS, Android, and API access support different usage contexts.
Its strongest fit is an SAP-centered data landscape. The platform connects with SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP BusinessObjects, and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, as well as SQL, OData, Google BigQuery, and Microsoft Excel. Live and imported connectivity supports different data strategies, while real-time refresh, scheduled report and story publications, and embedded widgets extend analytics into operational workflows. Role- and dimension-based access controls support governed access, including row-level security.
Pricing is handled through contact sales, with licensing through SAP Business Data Cloud core capacity. A 60-day free trial is available. Paid use adds the full combination of dashboards, planning, forecasting, AI-assisted analysis, connectivity, scheduling, security controls, and embedding, although the exact commercial scope depends on the licensing arrangement. SAP-centric planning and analytics teams should consider it when they need one cloud platform across reporting and planning. Smaller teams seeking a simple, self-serve BI tool may prefer a narrower product with simpler purchasing and deployment.
