Our verdict on Salto for Google Workspace
Salto for Google Workspace is a cloud configuration-management service for administrators and development teams responsible for Google Workspace environments. It fetches and deploys supported settings including roles, groups, role assignments, domains, templates, organizational units, schemas and resources. Teams can back up configuration automatically or on demand, compare environments, document changes, monitor role and group-permission updates, and revert unwanted Salto deployments.
Pricing uses configuration units rather than users. The Tokens plan costs $1.25 per configuration unit per month with annual billing, and includes configuration-size pricing, unlimited non-production environments and unlimited users. The Automation (CI/CD) add-on costs $417 per month with annual billing and adds API access, environment protection and automated deployments triggered by pull requests. The Enterprise Controls add-on has the same annual monthly price and adds single sign-on and on-premises Git integration.
Backup and recovery are the central strengths. Schedules can run hourly or daily, while restoration can target specific configuration elements or the full configuration. Salto connects through Google OAuth and the Admin SDK, Groups Settings and Cloud Identity APIs, and it integrates with Google Workspace plus Salesforce, Salesforce CPQ, NetSuite, Zendesk, Jira, JSM and Okta. SOC 2 compliance is listed, with email and documentation support.
