Our verdict on Rumi
Rumi is a shared household coordination app for couples, roommates and families. It brings recurring chores, one-off tasks, assignments and completion tracking into a shared seven-day view. Household members can also manage shopping, meal planning and a household calendar, while XP, levels, achievements and weekly streaks add a lightweight progress system. It is a good fit for Apple households that want chores and everyday planning in one place rather than a dedicated task list alone.
The published plans show a generous Free tier at $0 per household. It includes recurring daily, weekly and monthly chores, shared assignments, a seven-day chore and task view, shopping and meal planning, a household calendar, and XP and streak features. Rumi Plus costs $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year, with the annual plan equivalent to $1.67 per month. Both paid options add automatic chore rotation, a load bar for each member, full household week history, seasonal and custom repeats, vacation mode and streak shields. A Lifetime plan costs $49.99 one time and includes Rumi Plus features, no renewal and future Plus features. A seven-day free trial is also offered.
Rumi’s strongest fit is within Apple’s ecosystem: the product supports iPhone and Mac compatibility, while Android is described as forthcoming. That platform scope makes it less suitable for households that need a currently available Android app. For Apple households, the combination of assignment, reminders, recurring schedules, rotation and workload visibility covers both routine chores and broader household coordination. Choose Rumi if shared planning, low pricing and household context matter more than cross-platform availability; choose another option if every household member needs Android access today.
