Our verdict on Homsy
Homsy brings recurring chores, task assignment, automatic rotation, completion history, reminders, shopping lists, and a shared family calendar into one household management app. It is designed for couples, families, and roommates who need a shared view of responsibilities across the web, iOS, and Android. Chores can run daily, weekly, or monthly, while household members can mark work complete and see the history. Offline access supports continued use when connectivity is unavailable, with synchronization when it returns.
Its main strength is breadth within household coordination. Automatic rotation can distribute recurring chores between members, while assignments and personalized daily summaries provide more structure than a simple checklist. Shared shopping lists update in real time, and Google Calendar import connects household planning with an existing calendar workflow. This combination suits households managing chores alongside errands and scheduled family activities rather than users seeking a narrowly focused task list.
The Free plan provides up to 2 household members, 3 repeating chores, 10 active tasks, and 2 shopping lists. It does not expire and includes no advertising. Pro costs $3.99 per month, $19.99 per year, or $34.99 as a one-time purchase, with unlimited household members and unlimited repeating chores. Homsy is a sensible pick for households that want rotation, reminders, history, shopping, and calendar features together. Households that exceed the Free plan limits will need Pro, while those wanting integrations beyond Google Calendar or a simpler single-purpose chore list may find its wider coordination model unnecessary.
