Our verdict on RistoBrain
RistoBrain is browser-based software for restaurants that need to calculate dish food costs, monitor ingredients and evaluate menu profitability. It connects recipes, ingredient quantities and supplier prices to automatic food-cost calculations, while also supporting inventory tracking, reorder lists, invoice uploads, price alerts and allergen and HACCP documentation. Restaurants can enter or import sales data, classify dishes as Star, Plowhorse, Puzzle or Dog, and use an AI advisor for food-cost and menu decisions. The product is aimed at small restaurants first, with plans that also cover multiple locations and restaurant teams.
Pricing is structured around four monthly EUR plans. Free supports 1 location, up to 30 recipes, up to 50 ingredients, invoice upload and a Basic AI advisor. Base costs €19 per month and adds unlimited recipes and ingredients, food-cost analytics, plus XML, PDF and AI invoice processing. Pro costs €49 per month and adds unlimited locations, the Creative Menu Engine, an Advanced AI advisor, professional menu engineering and priority support. Business costs €99 per month and adds multi-restaurant support with teams and roles, dedicated email support and early access to new features.
The main appeal is the combination of recipe costing, supplier-price updates, inventory control and menu analysis in one restaurant-focused product. Invoice extraction can turn supplier documents into usable cost inputs, while sales data supports menu profitability analysis. The breadth suits operators who want more than a basic recipe calculator. Restaurants with one location and modest recipe and ingredient counts can start with Free; those needing unlimited recipes should consider Base.
