Our verdict on Radar

Radar is an open-source Kubernetes interface for platform engineering, SRE, and DevOps teams. Its focus is Kubernetes-layer visibility: topology and traffic graphs, resource and event views, cross-cluster search, Helm release history, GitOps visibility for Argo CD and Flux, image filesystem inspection, cluster audits, routed notifications, and alert rules. Radar runs locally or in a cluster, while Radar Cloud adds hosted fleet views and persistent operational history. An MCP server and AI-assisted investigation extend the product toward teams that want AI agents to inspect Kubernetes issues.

Pricing spans a free hosted tier and paid plans billed per cluster per month. Cloud Free supports up to three connected clusters, unlimited users, 24-hour timeline retention, Slack notifications, and built-in alert rules. Team costs $149 per cluster per month and adds unlimited clusters, scoped RBAC roles, three-day timeline retention, 30-day audit retention, PagerDuty, Microsoft Teams, webhooks, and advanced alert rules. Enterprise costs $299 per cluster per month and adds SAML and OIDC SSO, SCIM 2.0, 30-day timeline retention, one-year audit retention, BYOC or self-hosted deployment, and priority support. Custom adds volume pricing, custom data residency and retention, air-gapped deployment, a 99.9% uptime SLA, and a dedicated CSM.

Radar fits organizations that need a shared view of Kubernetes structure, changes, deployments, and fleet activity rather than a broad application observability suite. Its integrations cover Helm, Argo CD, Flux, Slack, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Microsoft Teams, webhooks, Google, GitHub, and SAML/OIDC. Choose it for topology, operational context, and Kubernetes-focused alert correlations, especially when self-hosting or open-source access matters. Choose another product when retained Kubernetes logs or distributed tracing are core requirements; application log contents are streamed on request and are not retained at rest.
