PVS-Studio is a static analyzer for development teams that want source-code checks for defects, potential vulnerabilities, coding-standard violations, and optimization issues. It supports C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Go on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The product is especially suited to C/C++ teams and organizations that need security and safety-oriented diagnostics alongside general code-quality analysis.
The published plans show two licensing paths. Team License is for teams under 10 developers, codebases up to 1 million lines, and single-platform use. Enterprise License is for teams exceeding 10 developers or codebases over 1 million lines, with cross-platform code-quality control, custom diagnostics, flexible technical support, continuous code-quality control, and server-side code-change checks. Pricing uses a contact-sales model, while a 7-day trial provides a limited evaluation period rather than a free plan.
PVS-Studio’s strongest fit comes from the depth of its development workflow coverage. Security analysis maps to CWE and OWASP ASVS, while diagnostics relate to MISRA, AUTOSAR, and SEI CERT. Teams can work through Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, JetBrains IDEs, Qt Creator, and Android Studio, or use command-line and build-system integrations. CI/CD options include GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and TeamCity, with pull-request and commit analysis workflows. Browser-based report review, warning status marking, team assignment, and HTML, XML, CSV, TXT, JSON, CompileError, TaskList, and TeamCity reports support review and coordination. Teams should choose PVS-Studio when multi-language analysis and integrated quality workflows matter; organizations requiring a free tier or user-created analyzer rules should consider an alternative.
