Proton Meet is a video conferencing service for individuals, teams, and organizations that need private online meetings. Its end-to-end encryption covers audio, video, screen sharing, and built-in chat. Meetings can run in a browser or through Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android apps, while guests can join through links without a Proton account. Permanent meeting-room links and host controls such as muting, participant removal, and meeting lock support recurring or controlled sessions.
The free Meet Free plan costs $0 per user per month when billed monthly. It supports meetings of up to 50 participants, with each meeting lasting up to 60 minutes and a limit of five meeting links per day. Meet Professional costs $7.99 per user per month when billed annually. It raises meeting duration to 24 hours, supports up to 100 participants, removes the daily meeting limit, and adds meeting recording, appointment scheduling, and browser, mobile, and desktop apps. Recording is provided as local MP4 files, while scheduling works through Proton Calendar.
For ecosystem fit, Proton Meet connects with Proton Calendar, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Calendar. The platform also supports screen sharing, meeting chat, permanent links, and audit logs. Open-source development and coverage across major desktop and mobile platforms suit privacy-first teams that want encrypted meetings without requiring every guest to create an account. It is a strong choice for private internal meetings, scheduled appointments, and small-to-medium group calls. Teams needing more than 100 participants or cloud-based recording should consider a different meeting platform.
