PrivCo is a web-based database focused primarily on U.S. private companies. It is designed for investment banking, private equity, venture capital, sales, consulting, corporate M&A, and academic research. The platform combines company profiles with estimated revenue, EBITDA, valuation, growth metrics, ownership, funding, M&A activity, executive contacts, employee contacts, watchlists, alerts, exports, and advanced search. Researchers can filter more than 5 million private companies by ownership, funding, geography, industry, and financials.

The published plans divide access by research workflow. Researcher provides unlimited access to company profiles with recent revenue, employee count, news coverage, and funding events. List Builder adds full company data, unlimited watchlists, key executive contact data, and up to 1,000 company exports per month. Power adds all available employee contact information, API and MCP credits, a dedicated account manager, and access to the PrivCo research team. A free plan and a seven-day trial create lower-commitment entry points, while the List Builder trial requires a card and is refundable when canceled within the trial window.

PrivCo’s ecosystem extends beyond its web interface through a REST API, MCP access, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, MCP-compatible clients, and a Chrome Extension. Those options suit teams that need to move company data into research or prospecting workflows rather than keep every task inside a database. Its breadth is strongest for private-company financial and market research, especially when ownership, funding, contacts, monitoring, and exports belong in the same workflow. Organizations focused mainly on public companies, non-U.S. coverage, or a narrower contact-search use case may prefer a more specialized alternative. PrivCo is a fit for teams needing structured private-company intelligence; it is less suitable when that focus does not match the research scope.
