PrintNode is a hosted printing service for sending documents, labels, barcodes and other print jobs from web applications to connected printers. It is aimed at developers, businesses, warehouses, logistics operations, point-of-sale systems, pharmacies and enterprise integrations that need application-driven printing. The product combines a JSON API with client software for Windows, macOS and Linux, while also supporting web access, self-hosted deployments and integrations with PHP, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, Make and Zapier.

Pricing is structured around print volume and computer limits. The Lite plan includes 50 prints per month, one computer and no card details required. Essential costs $9 per month for 5,000 prints and three computers, while Standard costs $29 per month for 25,000 prints and five computers. Premium costs $99 per month for 200,000 prints and unlimited computers. Annual options include Essential yearly at $90 for 60,000 prints, Standard yearly at $290 for 300,000 prints and Premium yearly at $990 for 2,400,000 prints. Standard Integrator costs $60 per month and includes 100,000 prints, 20 sub-accounts and unlimited computers. The published pricing also states that the first month is free.

Its strongest fit is API-led printing across mixed operating systems. URI printing can keep documents off PrintNode servers, while delegated authentication, custom-branded client software, webhook and websocket notifications, and private or standalone server deployments support varied integration requirements. Serial and USB weighing-scale support adds relevance for operational workflows. However, the product is not positioned as a full print-governance suite: mobile printing, secure release, quotas, policy management and reporting are not part of the listed capabilities. Choose PrintNode when application integration, cross-platform clients or private deployment matter most; choose an alternative when mobile workflows or centralized print controls are core requirements.
