Our verdict on Poscraft KDS
Poscraft KDS is kitchen display software for restaurants, cafés, takeaways, and quick-service operations. It receives real-time order updates from restaurant POS systems, websites, and mobile apps, then displays colour-coded tickets for kitchen teams. Staff can track preparation status, route dishes to selected stations, break products into preparation steps, and send order-ready or item-ready notifications. Support for touchscreen and non-touch monitors makes it suitable for wall-mounted or countertop kitchen displays.
The published plans show a free tier followed by Standard at $20 per month, Business at $45 per month, and Professional at $80 per month, all billed monthly. That freemium structure gives smaller operations a low-cost entry point while keeping paid options available as requirements grow. The product connects with restaurant POS systems, websites, and mobile apps, covering the main order sources described for the system. Generic plan descriptions make it harder to distinguish the KDS-specific differences between tiers, so buyers should compare the available plan information carefully before choosing a paid level.
Its strongest functional focus is the movement of orders through preparation: colour-coded prioritization, custom kitchen statuses, preparation summaries, station routing, configurable workflows, printing, and blinking new-order notifications. These features support kitchens that need visible task sequencing rather than a simple order display. Poscraft KDS is a sensible fit for budget-conscious restaurants operating Windows monitors and needing core routing and status workflows. Businesses requiring a non-Windows deployment, or needing clearly defined station limits and more explicit tier-by-tier KDS comparisons, should consider alternatives that match those requirements.
