Our verdict on PomeloHook

PomeloHook is an open-source, self-hosted webhook relay for developers and teams that need to receive webhooks, route them to local services, and retain event history. It creates public tunnel URLs, forwards incoming requests through WebSocket tunnels, and supports both personal and organization-scoped tunnels. The product is available for web, macOS, Linux, API, and self-hosted environments, making it a focused option for local development workflows rather than a broad application integration suite.

Its strongest feature set centers on event persistence and control. PomeloHook stores incoming webhooks in SQLite before forwarding them, then provides request and response details for inspection. Stored events can be replayed to target URLs, which gives developers a way to revisit webhook activity during debugging. Embedded local and organization dashboards, along with CLI and browser access, keep tunnel and event management close to the development environment. These capabilities make PomeloHook particularly suitable when visibility into individual webhook deliveries matters.

Deployment is intentionally self-managed. The product is distributed as a Go-based binary and can be installed on Linux or macOS, run with Docker, or built from source. Personal and organization tunnels, role-based access control, organization management, and an administrative panel for users, organizations, tunnels, and database access extend the product beyond a single-developer workflow. Choose PomeloHook if you want open-source ownership, local forwarding, persistent event history, and replay. It is less suited to teams seeking a fully managed webhook service or a broader hosted integration platform.
