Our verdict on PlanckVPN

PlanckVPN is a paid consumer VPN for people who want to encrypt internet traffic and route it through VPN servers using a familiar protocol choice. It supports WireGuard by default, with OpenVPN and IKEv2 also available, and offers apps for iOS, macOS, Windows, Android and Linux. Its feature set suits individuals and small households seeking a straightforward VPN across devices, rather than buyers who need documented performance against censorship in Iran.

The subscription has one feature set with three billing intervals: $3.99 per week, $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. Each option includes all server locations and features, with up to four devices. There is no free plan. The vendor describes a network spanning 12 countries, with server selection by country or location. One-tap connect and disconnect keeps the connection controls simple, while Priority routing is also included. Buyers should compare the billing interval that fits their needs, since the weekly option has a substantially shorter commitment than the monthly or annual option.

PlanckVPN also includes Ad Block mode, which blocks ads and trackers at DNS level, and Maximum Security mode, which blocks known malicious and phishing sites. The vendor says it does not retain VPN activity logs and lists GDPR compliance; support is via email. For Iran, however, the key question is not simply protocol variety: the published information does not establish obfuscation or Iran-specific availability or effectiveness. A buyer who needs a general-purpose VPN on several operating systems may find the core offering relevant, while someone prioritizing verified censorship circumvention should choose a service with documented performance for that use case.
