Our verdict on Piggo
Piggo is a family pocket-money and savings ledger for parents and children. Available on web, iOS and Android, it lets parents create family accounts, schedule recurring allowances, manage chores and approve deposit or withdrawal requests. Children can view balances, request transfers, move money between their own accounts and send money to siblings. Separate logins and roles help divide responsibilities between parents and children.
The product’s strongest fit is its combination of recurring allowances, chore rewards and savings goals. Parents can configure weekly or monthly pocket-money transfers, create recurring, one-off or open chores, and attach rewards to completed work. Family members can set savings goals, configure interest for savings accounts and receive push notifications for payments, approvals and requests. Children’s stock-price portfolios add an educational element without changing Piggo’s focus on household money routines.
Piggo is currently free during beta. Its terms say a subscription with a free trial may be introduced later. The service functions as a shared family ledger rather than a financial account: it does not hold or move real money, and withdrawals are handled manually. That makes it suitable for families that want a structured way to track allowances, agreements and saving progress while keeping actual money movement separate. Families seeking an automated savings service that transfers real funds, or a broader personal-finance platform, should choose a different type of product.
