Our verdict on Philips SmartSleep Sleep and Wake-Up Light HF3650/60
Philips SmartSleep Sleep and Wake-Up Light HF3650/60 combines a sunrise alarm with lighting and wind-down functions for people who want a bedside routine in one device. The light gradually brightens before the alarm, and waking can use one of seven sounds or FM radio. In the evening, a sunset program dims the light and optional sound, while RelaxBreathe offers guided light or sound rhythms. It also works as an adjustable bedside or reading light, with a touch display, midnight light, AUX input and mobile-device charging.
The sunrise and sunset programs are the central draw: this is more than an alarm with a gradually brightening lamp. RelaxBreathe adds a guided wind-down option, and the FM tuner gives the wake routine an alternative to the built-in sounds. The 25 brightness settings provide a range for bedside lighting, while the display brightness adjusts itself. Choose this model if you want those routines and radio in a physical clock; a simpler alarm may be a better fit if you only need a wake-up alert.
According to Philips' product page, the suggested retail price is $199.99. That paid purchase gets you the light routines, sounds, radio and charging functions, but not smartphone control or an app-based alarm scheduler. That limitation matters for buyers who want to manage alarms from a phone; this model is better suited to people comfortable setting up routines on the device itself. Philips lists documentation as its support channel. Consider another option if app scheduling is essential, but choose the HF3650/60 if gradual light-based waking and a guided wind-down matter more than phone control.
