Our verdict on Owlette

Owlette is a cloud-connected operations tool for monitoring, managing, and deploying software across fleets of unattended Windows machines. Its agent tracks processes and system metrics, detects crashes, and can automatically restart applications. The web dashboard adds remote start, stop, restart, and kill controls; process scheduling; machine health visibility; email alerts; display-layout management; deployments; and role-based site access. It is aimed at teams responsible for remote Windows machines that need centralized process operations rather than a general-purpose monitoring suite.

The published plans show a paid model after the beta period. Core costs $20 per machine per month and includes process monitoring, auto-recovery, process control, display layouts, role-based access, email alerts, and email support. Pro costs $60 per machine per month and adds software and file deployment, an AI fleet assistant, automations with AI visual checks, incremental project synchronization, and a REST API. The pricing structure is straightforward, but the lack of a free plan makes Owlette less suitable for teams seeking a no-cost ongoing option. Core also limits access to several capabilities reserved for Pro.

Owlette’s strongest fit is remote Windows operations where recovery, scheduling, alerts, and fleet-level controls matter. It supports display topology monitoring and auto-restore, continues monitoring while offline, and synchronizes when connectivity returns. For integration and automation, it offers REST API access, webhooks, a CLI, and a TypeScript SDK, with integrations listed for OpenAI, Anthropic, and Firebase. The platform is available through web, Windows, and API interfaces. Teams needing deployment and AI-assisted automation should consider Pro; those needing only core monitoring and recovery may find Core sufficient. Organizations that do not operate Windows machines or want a free plan should choose an alternative.
