Oreko is an open-source quoting and invoicing platform for freelancers and small businesses. Its workflow covers visual quote creation, branded client-facing documents, client approval, contract templates, e-signature capture, quote-to-invoice conversion, online payments through Stripe, payment tracking, reminders, PDF export, and revenue and quote-conversion analytics. Teams can use Oreko Cloud through a web interface and API, or deploy the Community Edition on their own infrastructure.

Pricing is structured around a free cloud plan, three paid cloud tiers, and a free self-hosted edition. The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes cloud hosting, auto-reminders, recurring invoices, advanced analytics, API access, and community support. Pro costs $10 per month, Business costs $24 per month, and Unlimited costs $49 per month; each lists cloud hosting, auto-reminders, backups and SSL, recurring invoices, advanced analytics, and API access. The Community Edition is free and adds self-hosted deployment, unlimited documents, full source code, an own database, and community support. A 14-day free trial is also available.

Oreko’s strongest fit is for teams that want one focused workflow from quote through invoice and payment, while retaining an open-source or self-hosted option. Stripe handles online payment collection, and API access supports connections beyond the listed integration. The product also gives small businesses analytics, reminders, branded documents, and contract handling in one system. Its narrower integration coverage and focused feature breadth may make it less suitable for teams that need a wider ecosystem or more extensive proposal-platform capabilities. Choose Oreko for open-source flexibility and core quote-to-payment workflows; consider an alternative when broader integrations are central.

Oreko pros and cons

  • Where it doesn't
    • Stripe is the only listed integration
    • Feature breadth is narrower than broader proposal platforms
    • Community Edition requires self-hosted deployment
