Our verdict on OrbVPN
OrbVPN is a consumer VPN for people seeking encrypted internet access on networks that block ordinary VPN traffic. Its standout focus is traffic mimicry: Reality-based Protocol Mimicry uses TLS fingerprints and HTTP headers to disguise VPN traffic. Bridge Mode routes through relay servers, while Smart Connect selects a server, protocol, and mimicry profile. The free plan makes these connection options available without a paid subscription, so it may suit an individual weighing censorship-oriented features against a one-connection limit. It is a less natural fit for households or anyone needing several simultaneous connections.
The plan ladder starts with Free, which includes basic VPN access, ad-supported service credits, Protocol Mimicry, and Bridge Mode. Basic costs $1.75 per month with annual billing and lists full VPN access, no ads, all server locations, mimicry, and Bridge Mode. Premium is $4.09 per month with annual billing and lists full VPN access, all server locations, Protocol Mimicry, and Bridge Mode; its listed highlights do not distinguish it from Basic beyond the price. Ultimate costs $6.59 per month with annual billing and adds a static IP to those features. The advertised monthly amounts are tied to annual billing, so compare the commitment as well as the price.
Censorship resistance is the product's clearest reason to consider it: alongside mimicry and bridge routing, OrbVPN lists geo-aware failover and alternate entry domains. A kill switch cuts internet access if the VPN connection drops, and transport choices include VLESS, WireGuard, OrbConnect, and SSH. The vendor states a no-logs policy, describes RAM-only servers, and says it does not retain browsing activity, DNS queries, or connection logs linking identities to browsing; it also collects anonymized connection-performance telemetry. Apps are listed for web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, with support through email, documentation, and community. Choose OrbVPN if these anti-blocking options and a free tier matter most; look elsewhere if multiple simultaneous connections are essential.
