Oracle Data Safe is a cloud service for assessing, monitoring, and protecting Oracle databases across Oracle Cloud, third-party clouds, and on-premises environments. It is designed for database administrators and security teams managing database fleets, audit requirements, and compliance programs. Its scope covers database security assessments, user-risk analysis, sensitive-data discovery, data masking, centralized auditing, security-policy management, and SQL Firewall administration. Web and API access support different operating models, while private endpoints and on-premises connectors support database connectivity.

Pricing is organized around deployment location, target counts, and audit-record volume. The Database Cloud Service plan includes 1 million audit records per target database per month at no charge; a separate plan applies to collection above that allowance. For on-premises databases and databases on Compute, plans are divided into the first 100 targets, targets 101–300, targets 301–500, and over 500 targets, with each target plan including 1 million audit records per target per month. A separate on-premises plan applies to collection above that level. The published offer also includes a 30-day free trial, giving teams a defined way to evaluate the service before adopting paid usage.

The standout strength is breadth within Oracle database security. Teams can establish assessment baselines, schedule reports, detect drift, analyze accounts and privileges, classify sensitive data, mask data for development and analytics, retain audit activity, monitor alerts, and manage SQL Firewall violations from one service. Policy deployment and unified audit-policy management add operational consistency across environments. That breadth makes Data Safe a strong fit for Oracle-centered security and compliance work. Organizations seeking a dedicated key-management product or a database-security service outside an Oracle-focused environment should choose a different category fit.
