Our verdict on Openlane

Openlane is a compliance management and security platform for growing companies that need to organize controls, policies, evidence, risks, vendors, assets, personnel, and audit programs. It supports SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, NIST standards, GDPR, PCI DSS, ISO 42001, ISO 27002, and custom frameworks. Teams can collect evidence, map controls, assign remediation work, manage recurring reviews, and provide auditors with read-only access. It is available as a hosted service and as open-source software for self-hosting.

The vendor's pricing page lists the Compliance Module at $450 per month with monthly billing. That plan includes unlimited frameworks, evidence upload, vendor management, risk management, configurable workflows and notifications, and auditor access. The Trust Center costs an additional $300 per month and adds unlimited documents, subprocessor management, clickwrap NDAs, visitor analytics, custom domain and branding, and subscriber notifications. Additional 100GB evidence storage and Trust Center attribution removal are each listed at $10 per month. A 30-day trial is available without a credit card, and annual billing is advertised as 10% off.

Openlane fits teams that want compliance operations and external trust publishing in the same product. Its integrations include AWS, Cloudflare, GitHub, Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Teams, Okta, Slack, and Tailscale, while its GraphQL API, CLI, scoped tokens, and webhooks support connected workflows. Web, API, and self-hosted coverage also gives technical teams deployment options. Choose it when multi-framework compliance, vendor risk, evidence workflows, and a trust center are priorities. Teams seeking only a narrow compliance checklist or a free starting tier should consider a simpler alternative.
