Our verdict on OneTrust Third-Party Risk Management

OneTrust Third-Party Risk Management coordinates vendor onboarding, assessments, risk mitigation, monitoring, reporting, and offboarding. It is designed for organizations managing technology partners, service providers, and broader third-party ecosystems. A centralized inventory, editable vendor profiles, custom and out-of-the-box assessments, risk scoring, and reassessments give teams a structured way to manage vendor risk across the lifecycle.

The Base plan covers third-party onboarding, assessment, risk mitigation, reporting, monitoring, and offboarding. It also includes customized inventory, automated vendor assessments, and risk-intelligence data for evaluations and continuous monitoring. The Suite plan adds third-party lifecycle management, ethics and compliance evaluation, Dow Jones ethics and compliance databases, and monitoring for PEPs, sanctions, watchlists, adverse media, and reputational risk. Pricing is customized based on administrator users and third-party inventory size, so the product is better suited to organizations that prefer a sales-led buying process than to teams seeking self-serve pricing.

Its strongest fit is for programs that need depth across governance, control frameworks, workflow automation, and ongoing oversight. Support for more than 50 built-in control frameworks, rules-based workflows, dashboards, PDF exports, and integrations with BitSight, Black Kite, Bureau van Dijk, Dow Jones, Dun & Bradstreet, RiskRecon, SecurityScorecard, and UpGuard extend the platform beyond basic questionnaires. Organizations with a narrow vendor list or a need for a free, independently priced tool may find this scope and purchasing model less appropriate.
