Our verdict on Omni

Omni is a Kubernetes management platform for creating, operating, upgrading, and securing Talos Linux clusters. It is designed for teams managing multiple clusters across bare metal, virtual machines, cloud infrastructure, data centers, on-premises environments, and edge locations. Cluster creation is available through the UI or CLI, while declarative templates support reconciliation and centralized machine management. The platform is offered as a Sidero-operated SaaS service or as a licensed self-hosted deployment.

Pricing is accessible for smaller fleets but scales differently by plan. Hobby costs $10 per month and includes up to 10 nodes, 2 users, Omni cluster management, and community support. Startup costs $25 per node per month and includes up to 50 nodes, unlimited clusters, unlimited users, and community support. Enterprise is included with Talos Enterprise Linux and adds enterprise assurance and support, with self-hosted deployment available. Edge is intended for distributed edge fleets and includes secure node enrollment and enterprise support. A 14-day free trial is available, but Omni does not have a free plan.

Omni’s strongest fit is centralized control across mixed infrastructure providers, including AWS, GCP, Azure, KubeVirt, libvirt, vSphere, and Proxmox. It also combines encrypted WireGuard connectivity through SideroLink, optional KubeSpan, SAML and OIDC integration, access policies, Kubernetes RBAC, and a Workload Service Proxy for authenticated browser access to cluster services. Fleet-wide Kubernetes and Talos Linux upgrades include health checks and rollback. Teams already standardizing on Talos Linux should find the feature set well aligned; teams seeking an open-source platform or a Kubernetes management product independent of Talos should choose another option.
